Millennium Bank of Des Plaines Photography Exhibit

Millennium Bank of Des Plaines announces it’s April  Art Show “iPhoneography – A Potpourri of One Year” by Jerry Hug, photographer. The opening is Friday, April 13, 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the bank on 2077 Miner Street in Des Plaines. The show is up for the entire month of April.

This unique exhibit is one of the first iPhone photography exhibits in the area. All of the images were photographed from an iPhone and then edited on the cell phone. Jerry Hug believes the best camera is the one that is with you. The exhibit represents images that Hug captured over one year with the iPhone. The images were all manipulated with different apps, or applications, on the cell phone. As a photographer, Hug usually uses Photoshop to touch up and improve his images, but with the photos in this exhibit all photos were improved on the cell phone.

Jerry is the past president of the Des Plaines Camera Club and is presently the club’s director of Education. He retired from the Maine Township High Schools and began pursuing his passion of photography, first with large format cameras in the style of Ansel Adams and then switched to digital cameras. Jerry teaches digital photography for Des Plaines Camera Club and the Des Plaines Park District, The Clearing in Door County Wisconsin and the Chicago Area Camera Clubs in the greater Chicago area.  Jerry is currently the President of the Chicago Chapter of the Photographic Society of America, where he been a featured presenter at National Conventions around the country.  His is work is exhibited at several area galleries.
