Maine West Orchesis presents "idance"

More than 60 Maine West High School students will put a wide variety of dance styles on display as they entertain with “idance,” the group’s annual spring performance scheduled for March 17, 18 and 19.

“This show is an amazing collection of student choreography, my choreography, and guest choreography,” explained Orchesis sponsor Lisa Jacob.  “There is lyrical, tap, jazz, hip-hop, comedy, guy/girl dances, all-guy dances, and our breath-taking adagio piece.  There is something for everyone.  The music is stellar and the dancing exquisite.  The dancers have been working hard and it shows.  The show is spectacular!”

The show will include a piece that was selected to be performed at the Illinois State Dance Festival.  And for the first time, Jacob said, some male members of Maine West’s Orchesis group are doing choreography for the show.
