Adult Trip to Illinois Beach State Park & The Gold Pyramid House

A walk along a quiet beach, over dunes and swales with sprawling marches, or through forests of Black Oak: all await you at Illinois Beach State Park. Created by the titanic forces of glacial action and steady winds, this park encompasses the only remaining beach ridge shoreline left in Illinois. Lunch awaits you at Savanna House, which takes it’s name from the lush green of its forest preserve setting. Then, discover the secrets of the past revealed in a home built with more gold than any other: The Gold Pyramid House. Intrigued by claims that mysterious, supernatural and magical powers were related to the Pyramids, Jim and Linda Onan built their home as a Pyramid,  reflecting the elegant ostentatiousness common only to the wealthy Egyptian Pharaohs.  Trip departs from and returns to the Lake Park Clubhouse.
