Episode I: The Balloon Launch. Local Editor Lisa Cisneros attempts to provide an aerial view of Des Plaines in a two-part series.
Des Plaines Patch likes to have fun and do things out of the ordinary. So videographer Courtney Boyers joined me recently on a mission (which was inspired by GeekDad) that we had high hopes for.
This was our plan: Attach a video recording device to about 10 large helium balloons, tie the balloons to a string and fly the device like a kite over local landmarks and hot spots in Des Plaines, thus giving residents an overview of their great city. No, you didn't read that sentence incorrectly.
