Snow removal operations continue in the City of Des Plaines with the Emergency Operations Center being manned and Public Works crews maintaining 12 hour shifts. Alleys will be addressed today.
The Des Plaines Public Works and Engineering Department has received notification from Arc Disposal that collection operations on Wednesday-Friday, Feb. 2-4, will be delayed by two days each. Collection will resume on Friday following this schedule:

In order to ensure that garbage and recycling is collected, it must be in appropriate containers and accessible for the hauler. Any cans, bags, etc. that are snow covered or buried will not be collected.

The Red Cross Shelter, Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker Street has been closed. Residents are reminded that the city does not provide referrals for private property snow removal.
Des Plaines City Hall is open.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to help keep fire hydrants clear and visible from the street. Non-emergency calls should be directed to 847-391-5396. All emergencies should be reported to 9-1-1.
