Driving in Des Plaines During Floods on Friday

Blinking lights, orange construction horses and rough patches of roadway were the norm in Des Plaines on Friday. Tuesday should be better, travel-wise, according to reports from the city's website.

The Des Plaines River gushed last week, and driving in Des Plaines became more precarious as numerous roads became impassable due to the big storm. One Des Plaines resident, Tom Neal, motoring through the city on Friday, April 19, spoke with Patch at the BP gas station, 1530 Rand Road, about making his way through the city of rivers and railroads.
