Des Plaines Art Show Open at History Center

Information submitted by the Des Plaines History Center.

At Art Guild 10, now through Nov. 8, 10 local artists will publicly display two works each at the Des Plaines History Center’s Kinder House.

The petite Art Guild 10 showcase, presented by Des Plaines Art Guild and Des Plaines History Center, is open during History Center hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

The artists this year are Marilyn Perry, Sally Wallman, Dee Schuster, Cheryl Zub, Joan Fortner, Dolores Kenney, Mary Olson, Kathy Passi, Kristine Plum and Jean J. Rossi. Simply check in at the History Center’s Visitor Center at 781 Pearson St. and ask to see the show, a press release states.

The Art Guild and the History Center will further celebrate the artists with a reception and one-day sale of the artists’ work from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, at the History Center. The artists will bring eight additional unframed, original works to the reception.

A People’s Choice Award will be presented to the winning artist, determined through guests’ purchase of $1 raffle tickets that will serve as ballots. Guests may also win gift certificates from local sponsors through the raffle ticket purchases. Proceeds benefit the Des Plaines Art Guild and the Des Plaines History Center. There is no admission fee for the events.
