Bacon Fest Tickets on Sale Monday

The second annual 'Northshore Baconfest' will be held April 26.

North Shore bacon lovers, mark your calendars. The second annual Northshore Bacon Fest will be held April 26 in Glenview and tickets go on sale Monday.

Wagner Farm, one of the last working dairy farms in Cook County, is teaming up with Kraft, Catered by Design, Chaplik Trading Company, Illinois Pork Producers, Bluefire Art and Design, Cook County Farm Bureau and Lloyd & Kathryn Bettis Foundation to host the second annual Northshore Baconfest event being held the evening of Saturday, April 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Bacon is generously provided by Oscar Mayer, a Kraft Foods brand. All proceeds from the event will benefit Friends of Wagner Farm.

Spend a "sizzling" evening on the farm as chefs serve up tastings of imaginative bacon creations.  The event is limited to adults only ages 18 and older, and will also include "a side" of live music by Sunnyside Up, a cash bar and an array of unique bacon-related merchandise available for purchase.  Restaurants that are participating include: Blue Grass Restaurant, Bravo Cucina Italiana, Captain Quarters, Catered by Design, Dickey's Barbeque Pit, Egg Harbor Café, Eddie Merlot's, Foodstuffs: Gourmet Food & Catering, Hoof & Feather, Jolane's Restaurant & Bar, Maier's Bakery, North Branch Pizza and Burger Co., Real Urban BBQ, Sweets & Treats Ice Cream Parlor, Sweety Pies Bakery, The Globe at the Orrington Hotel, Toasty Cheese Mobile Eatery, White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant, and more.

General admission tickets are $55 each and include event entry from 6-8 p.m., sample-sized portions of all bacon dishes, soft drinks and live music. VIP admission tickets are $75 each and in addition to the previously mentioned items, VIPs will be admitted an hour earlier at 5 p.m. and a Northshore  Baconfest "gift" bag filled with discount coupons and goodies from participating restaurants and sponsors. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance online at northshorebaconfest.com.
