WOW Month at the Des Plaines Camera Club

Des Plaines Camera Club (DPCC) meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month September thru May.  October is shaping up as a WOW month of presentations and education

The DPCC is a group of individuals who share an interest in photography.  The club provides encouragement to members to expand their interests in photography in which they not only learn from one another, but also have an outlet for their creative interest.  The club is a member of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA) and enters monthly inter-club contest.  The schedule for October will be October 14 and October 28.

Save October 14 for a presentation by Ralph Velasco, travel photography instructor, author and international tour guide who has led tours around the world, including to Egypt, Spain, Mexico, Morocco, Chicago and San Francisco.  He’s also organized eight People-to-People programs to Cuba.  Ralph is the author of the e-book on “Travel Photography” and just recently published his 2nd e-book called "Essence of a Place".

Save October 28 for a presentation by Jerry Hug, educator and photographer of various photographic components including iphonography to Elements 11 processing.  Jerry will be presenting, “Breaking out of the Shutter Freeze."  Do you think that because you are not going on a big trip that you cannot find anything to photograph and so your camera stays in the bag? Jerry will show us how to get great images close to home. This is a hands on camera night, so bring your camera, regardless of what type of camera you have! Rain or shine, Jerry will set up assignments inside and outside to help us create some great images.

Meetings begin at 7:00 pm in the Des Plaines Park District Arndt Field House located at 1990 White Street in Des Plaines.  Whatever level of interest in photography you have, all are cordially invited to attend a meeting.  For additional information regarding the Club and meeting schedules, you are encouraged to visit us at www.desplainescameraclub.com or contact club President David Waycie, 847-845-9663 or by email at dwaycie@wowway.com.
