Vets Honor WWI War Memorial

Three Maine Township veterans took time recently to remember those who served our country many years ago.

L to r, are Township Clerk Gary K. Warner, Jerry Jaworsky of the Clerk's Office, and Highway Commissioner Robert Provenzano. The trio annually decorates the Belleau Wood War Memorial for the holidays. Located near the intersection of Ballard and Rand Roads, the memorial commemorates the services of the men of the Second Division of U.S. Marines Infantry for the first battle in 1917-1918 involving U.S. troops in Europe.

Jaworsky is also with the area's Marine Corps. League.
