Optimist Club Opens Christmas Tree Lot
The Optimist Club of Des Plaines opened its annual Christmas tree lot on Friday, November 29th. The lot is located at the Lake Park Veteran’s Memorial on Howard Street in Des Plaines.
The club received its charter in 1954 from Optimist International and has been selling fresh cut balsams, Frasiers, and Scotch pine trees and wreaths made on the premises for more than 50 years.
Profits from the sale help fund the club’s youth activities including financial supports for youth sports, Scouting, annual essay and oratorical contests, Movies in the Park, and many other endeavors.

Lot hours are 5:00PM-8:00PM Monday-Friday, 10:00AM-8:00PM Saturday, and 1:00-8:00PM Sunday.
