Northwestern College President Meets with IL State Representative Martwick to Discuss Higher Education Issues

[Rosemont and Chicago-Jefferson Park, IL]  Northwestern College President Lawrence Schumacher met with Illinois State Representative Robert F. Martwick of the 19th District on Friday, March 14 at Rep. Martwick’s legislative office at 5433 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago.  Throughout the course of the hour long meeting, the two discussed a variety of issues involving higher education, including pending legislation as well as ideas for future legislation here in Illinois.

“It’s always a pleasure to work with Representative Martwick,” commented Northwestern College President Schumacher. “His open door policy for residents and businesses in his district makes it extremely easy for us to reach out to him. He’s interested in what’s happening in our businesses, and on our college campuses, but more importantly, he’s willing to put forth the effort to identify solutions.”

Northwestern College’s Chicago Campus is located within Representative Martwick’s legislative district in Jefferson Park, located at 4811 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago.
