McFun for Washington School McTeachers

On Tuesday, May 20th, Washington School on Golf Road in Glenivew held a McTeacher's Night at the McDonald's on Dempster in Niles. Teachers took over the restaurant serving up delicious meals to students and families to raise money for the school. Twenty three teachers each worked for half hour shifts including McPrincipal Kristen Ulery. The McTeacher jobs included; drive-thru teachers, greeters, teachers cleaning the lobby, front counter teachers, drink teachers, teachers clearing tables, and teachers on the ice cream machine. There were teachers singing for tips and teachers collecting tips. Washington school had it all covered, and the families all had a great time.

The School plans to use the money raised to go into the PTO fund for future programming. Lots of students, teachers, families and friends came out to support the school.  It was an outstanding show of support and as a result all the kids came to see their teachers work at McDonald's.  A special appearance by the Chicago Bulls IncrediBulls helped make this fundraiser a memorable evening. Families enjoyed playing basketball with the IncrediBulls and taking pictures. It was a great night!
The IncrediBulls appearance was courtesy of the Des Plaines McDonald's owner/operator's, the Schenk Family. For more information about events provided by the Niles McDonald's contact the Niles McDonald's Community Relations Director, Julie.Travers@comcast.net.
