Free Showing of "It's a Wonderful Life" Set for Pickwick Dec. 8

To celebrate the best of the holiday spirit, Liberty Bank for Savings and Park Ridge Community Fund are showing the beloved movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, on Sunday, Dec. 8 at the historic Pickwick Theater in Park Ridge.  Families and individuals of all ages are invited to attend this joyous holiday event.  Admission is free but donations to the Park Ridge Community Fund (PRCF) are gratefully accepted.

The Pickwick Theatre is located at 5 S. Prospect Avenue, at the six-corner intersection with Touhy Avenue and Northwest Highway. Holiday music and live entertainment will start at 12 noon when doors open with the movie set to begin at 1 p.m. Entertainment will include a performance on the historic Wurlitzer pipe organ and carolers from The Willows Academy Chamber Choir from Des Plaines.

Donations to benefit PRCF will be accepted at the movie, and PRCF will also hold a raffle for an iPad donated by Liberty Bank and other prizes to help raise additional funds for social service organizations serving the Park Ridge community. “The impact we each have on others’ lives is a big theme in It’s a Wonderful Life, and we’re thrilled to share this great movie for the 12th holiday season,” says Gail Haller, PRCF executive director. “Liberty Bank’s generous sponsorship and partnership has again made this annual event possible, so we’re very grateful.  People who see the movie will get a lift and people who benefit from their donations to PRCF will be helped. It’s a great holiday event for everyone!”

Liberty Bank’s origin dates back to1898 when members of the Parish of All Saints Polish National Catholic Church on Chicago’s north side came together to form a mutual savings institution committed to "neighbors helping neighbors."  The community commitment is more than an advertising slogan; it’s the legal framework behind its mutual charter. Unlike most financial institutions, the bank has no stockholders; profits are returned to account holders and

re-invested in services.

During its 115-year history, Liberty Bank has weathered wars, depressions and stock market crashes to earn its ranking as one of the strongest banks in the country. To learn more about Liberty’s mortgage, savings and checking products, visit www.libertybank.com.
