Des Plaines Camera Club starts the New Year out with a Flash

Des Plaines Camera Club (DPCC) meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month September thru May.  January, 2014, starts the year out with a great presentation by Roger Mattingly

The DPCC is a group of individuals who share an interest in photography.  The club provides encouragement to members to expand their interests in photography in which they not only learn from one another, but also have an outlet for their creative interest.  The club is a member of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA) and enters monthly inter-club contest.  The schedule for January will be January 13 and January 27.

Save January 13 for a presentation by Roger Mattingly, "Taking Better Flash Pictures."   We will compare and explain flash modes, GN, Manual, ITTL, and Automatic; demonstrate using flash modifiers to enhance and flatter your subjects, explain using gels to color balance your flash; show how to use flash compensation on the camera/flash and profile techniques to help you take better people pictures and be more versatile with the flash you own. Bring your camera flash and instruction books to get the most out of this program. The best flash picture is when you can't tell the flash was used.

Save January 27 for a great night of competition.

Meetings begin at 7:00 pm in the Des Plaines Park District Arndt Field House located at 1990 White Street in Des Plaines.  Whatever level of interest in photography you have, all are cordially invited to attend a meeting.  For additional information regarding the Club and meeting schedules, you are encouraged to visit us at www.desplainescameraclub.com or contact club President David Waycie, 847-845-9663 or by email at dwaycie@wowway.com.
