CYBER MONDAY AT BROOKDALE, THE HERITAGE OF DES PLAINES WITH CONNECTED LIVING

The residents of Brookdale’s Heritage of Des Plaines were invited to participate in the special CYBER MONDAY event through the Connected Living program from 9:00 am to noon on the official Cyber Monday, December 2. No lines and no waiting in the Internet Café. There were plenty of computers to use and some residents brought their own laptops and tablets. The Connected Living Ambassadors along with other staff were there to help residents shop online, especially if it was their first time making a purchase online.

The Heritage was buzzing all week about the event which included a raffle to win a $10 Amazon Gift Card and the Grand Prize of a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, donated by Connected Living. Fifteen residents won an Amazon Gift Card which a few decided to use during the event. The lucky winner of the Samsung Galaxy Tablet, Dawn, was shocked when her name was drawn by John Jorgenson, the Executive Director (pictured). To add a special touch, Dawn will also receive an hour of personal time with the Heritage Connected Living Ambassador, Lynne Cook, to help assist her in using her new tablet.

The Heritage was decorated beautifully by the staff and residents for the holidays, so everyone was definitely in the holiday spirit. Residents were also treated to pastries, cookies, coffee and hot chocolate. Everyone was enjoying shopping for the holidays and they even helped each other make decisions on what to purchase. The socialization part of this event was so special to watch unfold.

The joint endeavor between Brookdale’s Heritage of Des Plaines and Connected Living, a Quincy based company, had residents smiling with their Cyber Monday savings. What better way to shop then in your own home and with the help of tech savvy Connected Living Ambassadors, and the best – NO LINES AND NO WAITING!
