Cowboy Legends Live Again at The Summit of Uptown Sept. 18

Did you like cowboy movies when you were growing up?  Come relive those memories at Cowboy Legends: Their Sidekicks, Horses, Songs and Stories at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit (at Touhy) in Park Ridge on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 1:30 p.m.  Reservations are requested for the free program by Friday, Sept. 13, and may be made by calling 847-825-1161 x129. Light refreshments will be served.

Larry and Clare Bergnach will recall the careers of  such famous cowboys as Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, Tex Ritter, The Lone Ranger, John Wayne, and Tom Mix; cowgirls Dale Evans, Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley; sidekicks Gabby Hayes, Andy Devine, Pat Buttram; and horses Silver and Trigger. While they recall these old friends, they will lead us in singing familiar melodies such as Tumbling Tumbleweeds, Cool Water, South of the Border, Deep in the Heart of Texas, Don’t Fence Me In, High Noon, and Happy Trails to You.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early or stay late for tours of the newly renovated retirement community.  Light refreshments will be served.  Those who attend are eligible for the Summit Guest Rewards Program which offers opportunities to earn rewards and prizes such as gift cards or lunch or brunch for two at Summit.
