Citizens for Carol A. Teschky Host Fundraiser Oct. 29

Maine Township Supervisor Carol A. Teschky, a candidate for Maine Township Republican Committeeman, and the Citizens for Carol A. Teschky Committee are holding a fundraiser on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Countryside Bar & Eatery, 2501 Ballard Rd., Des Plaines. Tickets are available in advance for $75 or at the door.

Teschky formally announced her candidacy in August. She made her decision to run for the position after current GOP Committeeman Rosemary Mulligan announced her intention to not seek re-election in the Republican Primary to be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

"As GOP Committeeman, I plan to focus my efforts on leading a revitalized Republican Party that will be inclusive and broad-based in both its membership and activities," Teschky says. "I have fought against the Democrats on the streets and in the voting booth for decades and know how to get Republicans elected. I will also continue to champion strong fiscal policies for all levels of government and promote initiatives to strengthen our economy and create jobs."

Teschky brings a long and distinguished record of Republican leadership to the race.  As an elected official, she has served as Maine Township’s Supervisor since 2007 having been re-elected twice in 2009 and 2013 respectively. On both occasions, she led the slate to a clean sweep of all Democratic opponents.

Previous to Supervisor, she served as a Township Trustee beginning in 1989 and up to her selection as Supervisor in 2007.  Her strong fiscal record of leadership on the township board includes producing balanced budgets every year, cutting the township tax levy by 25% and maintaining zero debt for the township.

No stranger to leadership positions inside and outside of the Township, Teschky currently serves as President of the Township Officials of Cook County. For the past 30 years, she has served as a precinct captain in the Maine Township Republican Party and has held several leadership positions including Committeewoman, President and Area Chairman.  She’s been an active member for over 30 years and a Past President in the Maine Township Republican Women’s Club as well as a member of the Park Ridge Republican Women’s Club for more than 20 years.

In 2002, she was recognized as ‘GOP Woman of the Year’ by the Maine Township Republican Women’s Club.  Teschky's candidacy for Committeeman has already received widespread support from a host of elected officials and local leaders.

Invited guests to the fundraiser include U.S. Senator Mark Kirk; Doug Truax, Candidate for U.S. Senate; Treasurer Dan Rutherford, Candidate for Governor; State Senator Kirk Dillard, Candidate for Governor; State Senator Bill Brady, Candidate for Governor; Bruce Rauner, Candidate for Governor; Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka; State Rep. Tom Cross, Candidate for Treasurer; DuPage Co. Auditor Robert Grogan, Candidate for Treasurer; Hon. Robert Dold, Candidate for Congressman, 10th District; State Rep. Michael McAuliffe, 20th District; Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvestri, 9th District; Cook County Commissioner Elizabeth "Liz" Doody Gorman, 17th District; and Mel Thillens, Candidate for State Rep, 55th District.

Carol Teschky and her husband, John, have been residents of Maine Township’s Glenview area for the past 45 years.  Together, they have three grown children and three grandchildren.
