On Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15, the History Center will be open between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for the Des Plaines Summer Fling weekend, featuring a sale of handmade items by the Center's volunteer craft group. The crafters have been working on new items for the gift shop. Stop in during the Summer Fling to see their latest work. Proceeds help support the Des Plaines History Center.

More About Des Plaines History Center
Since 1967, Des Plaines History Center has been devoted to preserving all historical material related to Des Plaines and bringing together history buffs in the community. Its collection houses more than 31,000 objects and documents from the 19th and 20th centuries. It hosts lectures, tours, Boy and Girl Scout programs and participates in and helps organize festivals throughout the year. The center also contains a museum and gift shop.
