 , at 0830.&nbsp\;\nCharts contain information on dangerous areas\, aids 
 to navigation\, harbors\, wrecks\, depth of water\, bottom type\, and ma
 gnetic variations affecting the compass.\nThis course will provide the r
 ecreational boater with the knowledge to interpret the chart&rsquo\;s co
 ntents in order to operate the boat safely. Text and training chart incl
 uded.\n&nbsp\;\n"GPS for Mariners" will be presented July 21 at 0830.\nT
 his Coast Guard Auxiliary class focuses on the Global Positioning Satell
 ite navigation equipment typically owned by the recreational boater. Stu
 dents will learn how to use a GPS for practical navigating\, setting and
  using waypoints and for more advanced applications.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Partic
 ipants who already own hand-held GPS units should bring them to the clas
 s.\n&nbsp\;\nNote: The &ldquo\;How to Read a Nautical Chart&rdquo\; clas
 s includes information that will improve the understanding of GPS.&nbsp\
 ;\n&nbsp\;\nClasses are $45 each\, which includes class materials.&nbsp\
