Community spirit will be alive at Des Plaines Summer Fling. The near northwest suburb -- home to the first McDonald's restaurant! -- in 2011 is rebranding its annual Taste of Des Plaines into a four-day "Summer Fling" festival. 

Back again will be food, including the cuisine of popular local restaurants. There will also be an impressive music lineup, activities for kids, arts & crafts at the "Pearson Street Art Fair," and more. It's all about family and neighbors at this summer fest in the heart of one of the region's most eclectic and cozy suburbs that's home to both tree-lined streets with impressive residences and a vibrant business mix.
