DECEMBER SHOWS AT THE MONTROSE ROOM

The Montrose Room located at the InterContinental Chicago O'Hare in Rosemont introduces Coco Montoya on Friday, December 7. Tickets are available now and can be purchased by visiting http://montroseroom.com/.

Born in Santa Monica and inspired by early rock n’ roll, Coco Montoya started his musical career as a drummer at a young age. His career blossomed in the 70s with Montoya partnering with both Albert Collins and John Mayall, at which point he became recognized as an outstanding blues guitarist. Montoya has worked with numerous influential artists while releasing his own collection of original works. In the late 90s, Montoya was awarded Best New Blues Artist at the Blues Music Awards. Since then, he has released a number of records including “Suspicion,” “Can’t Look Back” and “I Want It All Back.”

About Coco Montoya

Mentored by legendary bluesman Albert Collins, Coco Montoya became the guitarist for John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers for 10 years. Following his time with Mayall, Montoya went on to lead his own band. A self-taught guitarist, Montoya plays left-handed and upside down in the style of Albert Kind and Jimi Hendrix. Coco Montoya was awarded Best New Blues Artist at the Blues Music Awards in 1996. Currently Montoya has releases seven solo albums, the most recent, “I Want It All Back.”
