Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak is announcing a property tax appeal seminar that will be offered to taxpayers seeking to appeal their 2012 property tax assessments.
The seminar is co-sponsored by Wheeling Township Assessor Jerry Sadler, Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider and State Representative David Harris.
The seminar includes a presentation by Commissioner Dan Patlak explaining how property taxes are calculated and the appeal procedure of the Board of Review. Before the end of the evening, taxpayers will have an opportunity to work with staff from the Board of Review to address their specific questions and concerns.
This event is free to the public and there is no fee to appeal at the Board of Review.
Taxpayers are asked to bring a copy of their most recent tax bill.

More About Wheeling Township Office
The Wheeling Township administrative office serves the southern quarter of Buffalo Grove as well as all or parts of Wheeling, Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Des Plaines, Northbrook, Rolling Meadows and Prospect Heights. The township is responsible for maintaining roads in unincorporated areas and provides a variety of other services, including mental health, senior assistance, youth programs, veterans' services and welfare programs. Specific programs include Meals on Wheels, a food pantry and a job bank.Wheeling Township's administrative office is also home to the township clerk's office, which provides voting services; the highway commissioner's office; and the township assessor's office.
