Join the Des Plaines Park district on a day trip to Cedarville: Home of the Famous Fossil Winery, Art Galleries and Birthplace of Jane Addams
This charming village is one of Stephenson County’s oldest and the birthplace of Jane Addams, Nobel Prize winner and founder of Chicago’s Hull House. The Stephenson County Visitor Center will be our first stop. We’ll have lunch and a wine tasting at Famous Fossil Winery with time for a walk in the vineyard, maybe even find a fossil souvenir. Afternoon stops will include a tour at the Cedarville Historical Society, a visit to the studio of master glass blower Daniel Elder, and the Pine Hill Studio of Roger Goodspeed located on the Jane Addams Homestead.

More About Lake Park Clubhouse
Located on Howard Avenue in Des Plaines, the Lake Park Clubhouse serves food and beverages for users of the public 18-hole golf course. The clubhouse also features a pro-shop carrying a variety of golf accessories. For further inquiry, visit the Des Plaines Parks Web site.
