The Des Plaines Journal Wednesday September 19, 2012 issue carried
an article entitled: Neighbors Push Moylan to Do More on Fountain Blue Noise
In the Journal article the mayor said, “I don’t know what kind of game
Mr. Dillon is playing, but I agree with the residents who were in the room,”
Mr. Mayor, we are not playing a game, this is about protecting our property
values and our right to have peace and quiet in our neighborhoods.
Property values are extremely important to us. We are hardworking citizens who have worked very hard to maintain our homes. With already falling property values we dare not take a hit because of the noise pollution coming from Fountain Blue. When selling our homes we are obligated to disclose the noise from the Fountain Blue tent.
In Mayor Moylan’s campaign for state representative for House District 55 against Susan Sweeney he says, “Marty Moylan knows we have worked a lifetime to build our neighborhoods. He’s fighting with us to save them.” His reference is to foreclosures. All he has to do is apply the same concern to our property values.
On September 19, 2012, a hearing was held in Des Plaines City Hall to deal with the 5 tickets issued to Fountain Blue for Disturbing the Peace. Four of the five police officers who came to residents' homes in response to noise pollution complaints from the Fountain Blue were present at the hearing.
Fountain Blue was fined in four out of the five tickets. Here again is evidence
building against Fountain Blue for excessive noise and another example where
the Mayor refused to take leadership on behalf of citizens who have cried out
repeatedly to the City for over 16 months.
We appreciate the mayor’s possible future vote, if it ever came to that, but we need his leadership on this issue now. Without his leadership we can see this problem going into month 17, 18, 19 and beyond. By the way, if Mayor Moylan wins the election for State representative he would be nowhere to be found in terms of voting on this matter in the future. This is why we need his leadership now.

From the above, It sounds like Mayer Moylan is simply using his present position as a stepping stone to boost his political career. However if he does not act decisively in favor of the citizens and address their concerns, his lack of action will come back to haunt him in future elective offices.
