YouTube Story Not New to Patch Readers
Patch reported last year how one young soldier escaped from Joseph Kony.
Patch readers were aware just under a year ago of the plight of children conscripted into the Lord’s Liberation Army of Joseph Kony when they read about the experience of David Ocitti, a Ugandan who was one of the few to escape.
Now the story has gone viral with more than 58 million YouTube viewings of a 28-minute documentary, Kony 2012, designed to bring the man to justice.
View the video and read the story Ocitti told a youth group gathering last April at Congregation Am Shalom in Glencoe of how he saw his father murdered, his mother abducted and his brothers killed by Kony’s troops.
