Thursday Blotter: Public Urination, Stolen Gnomes, More

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.
Drinking in Public, Obscene Conduct
Police stated two men were sitting on the south side of Arndt Park drinking from large glass bottles at 11:59 a.m. on June 22. When police approached them, one of men, later identified as Jesus Sandoval-Tellez, 47, of Des Plaines, was urinating behind a bush, in public view.
Two half-filled 40-ounce bottles of King Cobra were laying on the ground next to where Sandoval-Tellez and Norberto Gomez, 45, of Rosemont, were sitting, police stated.
Sandoval-Tellez and Gomez were issued citations for drinking public, and Sandoval-Tellez was issued a citation for obscene conduct, urinating in public. They were given a court date of Aug. 1 at Skokie courthouse.

Criminal Damage to Property, Theft
Three gray garden gnomes were reported stolen from the front yard of a residence in the 500 block of S. Third Avenue at 4:14 p.m. on June 26. The gnomes were taken, and a solar address sign was broken, sometime between midnight and 7 a.m. on June 26, police stated.

Criminal Damage to Property, Graffiti
A communications box on an apartment building in the 100 block of Dover Drive was vandalized with gang-related graffiti with a black marker sometime between 10:30 p.m. on June 23 and 11 a.m. on June 24. Property loss was estimated at $100.
