Thursday Blotter: Man Blasts Music and Screams at Neighbors, Flag Burning, More

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.
Disturbing the Peace
Jeffrey A. Rak, 48, of Des Plaines, was charged with disturbing the peace after multiple neighbors reported to police he blasted his radio on more than one occasion to annoy his neighbors. According to the report, Rak also screamed at his neighbors on multiple occasions.
When police asked Rak to turn the volume down, they smelled alcohol on his breath, and he was “verbally disrespectful” to the officers on the scene, police stated.
Rak was given a court date of Oct. 12 at Skokie courthouse.

Criminal Damage to Property
An American flag on a flagpole at a residence on the 200 block of N. Wolf Road was burned sometime between 11 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 26. The owner told police, according to the report, this was the second time someone burned his flag, and the previous incident occurred on Aug. 6. Property loss was estimated at $10.

Burglary
A Tapco siding table saw was reported stolen from an unattached garage at a residence on the 900 block of Walter Avenue sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. on Aug. 16. The garage was locked. It appeared entry was gained by prying open the overhead door because there were pry marks on the left side of the overhead door. Property loss was estimated at $1,100.
