Soap Stolen from Walgreen’s and More in Wednesday Blotter

The following arrest information was supplied by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Retail Theft

Richard T. Lockett, 56, of Arlington Heights, was charged with one felony count of retail theft after witnesses reported he left Walgreen’s, 17 W. Golf Road, with items he did not purchase between 9:05 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 14, police stated. A witness told police, according to the report, Lockett placed several items in a rolling suitcase and attempted to purchase some paper towels, but Lockett’s debit card did not have any credit. He then exited the store without paying for the merchandise in the suitcase, according to the report.

The items Lockett left the store without purchasing, police stated, included mouthwash, deodorant, soap and a Master brand lock set, valued at $106.14. Lockett was given a court date of Jan. 22 at Skokie courthouse.

Burglary to Vehicle

An IPhone charger was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a residence driveway on the 200 block of S. Warrington Road sometime between 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 15 and 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 16, police stated. Property loss was estimated at $10.

Burglary to Vehicle

A vehicle was burglarized on the 500 block of E. Prairie Avenue sometime between 8 p.m. on Jan. 9 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 10, according to a police report. A Garmin brand GPS device was removed from the vehicle, police stated, and property loss was estimated at $150.
