Regional Police Reports: 5-Year-Old Killed After Woman Drives Onto Sidewalk Into Family

5-Year-Old Killed After Woman Drives Onto Sidewalk, Hits Family
A five-year-old girl was killed after an 18-year-old woman drove her Lexus Coupe onto a sidewalk and into a family on Labor Day.
The driver in the Highland Park crash in the 700 block of Central Avenue which left Jaclyn Santos-Sacramento, 5, of Highland Park, dead was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence “of an intoxicating compound or combination of intoxicating compounds,” according to a news release from Highland Park City Manager David Knapp.
Carly Rousso, 18, of Highland Park was charged based on the evidence obtained and analyzed so far with any additional counts based on a further investigation, according to the release. She was released on bond, according to the Lake County State's Attorney's Office and, according to the Rousso's spokesman Jim Termin, she is no longer driving.
On Thursday, Sept. 6, more than 600 people attended a memorial service for Santos-Sacremento.
Lakewood
Elgin Motorcyclist Killed In Crash
An Elgin man was killed Tuesday, Sept. 4, and his 16-year-old daughter died Wednesday at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock after their motorcycle was struck by a Jeep Liberty at the intersection of routes 176 and 47 in Lakewood.
Christopher J. Ludovice, 54, and his daughter were riding a Suzuki motorcycle and traveling southbound on Route 47 at about 8:53 p.m. Tuesday.
The traffic signal was green for Route 47 traffic when a Jeep Liberty driving northbound on Route 47 attempted to turn left (west) on to Route 176, Lakewood Police Chief Larry Howell said. The driver of the Jeep, William A. Cizek Jr., 49, of Harvard, struck the motorcycle while attempting to make the turn. Cizek was cited for making an improper turn, Howell said.

Randall Road CVS Robbed In Crystal Lake
CVS Pharmacy was robbed of Oxycodone Sunday, Sept. 2 after a man handed a pharmacist a note and threatened him with a semi-automatic handgun, police said.
The robbery occurred at 10:38 p.m. at 1305 Randall Road in Crystal Lake. The suspect was described as a white male, in his 20s, about six feet tall with red facial hair and a goatee. Police said in a press release that the man spoke with an accent that was possibly European.
Niles
Man, 41, Charged With Sexually Abusing Girl
A 41-year-old man was charged in connection with the sexual abuse of a Niles girl, now 16, over a three-year period.
Rolando Pareja, 41, of the 5000 block of Northwest Hwy., Chicago, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, Aug. 31 at about 4:50 p.m.
Niles police said Pareja, a friend of the girl's family, fondled the girl's breasts and genitals at least once over her clothing. He also fondled her breasts at least once under her clothing, police stated.
Skokie
Winnetka Trustee Charged With DUI
A Winnetka village trustee was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and several other traffic violations in Skokie on Sept. 6 around 1:41 a.m.
Jennifer Spinney, 60, of the 200 block of Sheridan Road in Winnetka, was stopped near the 9200 block of McCormick Boulevard after police said they witnessed her make a variety of traffic violations. According to the report, Spinney was driving over the white lane dividers for more than an entire block and was doing 25 in a 40 mph speed zone.
Officers would later ask Spinney to exit the vehicle for a field sobriety test to which she replied, “I just want to go home,” according to the report.
