Q&A: Des Plaines Softball Coach, Girl Scout Leader, Parent-Extraordinaire
We ask, where’s a favorite place to go, thing to do.
Teresa Curtin, 43, has lived in Des Plaines her whole life. She is a mother of three, an IT tech, softball coach, former Girl Scout leader, chauffeur and self-described parent-extraordinaire.
On Thursday afternoon Curtin coached a Des Plaines Park District girls’ softball league team at Iroquois North field next to the Administrative and Leisure Center. The game was short-lived, as heavy rains drew in after a couple innings, which gave Curtin a moment to answer a few questions.
Patch: Where is one of your favorite places to go in Des Plaines?
Curtin: Barnaby’s. They got great pizza and it’s a great place to hang out with family and friends.
Earlier: Meet Apollo School’s new principal.
Patch: What is one of your favorite things to do in Des Plaines?
Curtin: Walk on the path at Prairie Lakes. It’s just a nice, easy path to walk. It’s scenic, and a lot of people from the neighborhood are there. You see a lot of friends.
Patch: What is one thing you know about Des Plaines that others may not?
Curtin: I get gas at Sam’s Club; it’s the cheapest in Des Plaines.
