Noise Dispute Between Fountain Blue and Neighbors Continues
Fountain Blue's outdoor tent is a heated topic between the Des Plaines business and nearby residents.
The Des Plaines zoning board will review a permit renewal request for a controversial outdoor tent set up by Fountain Blue banquet hall later this month. The original meeting was scheduled for Feb. 26 but was canceled due to snow.
The tent has been a contentious issue between the owner of Fountain Blue and the people who live in the residential homes nearby. Neighbors say the tent has created an abundance of noise “polluting” the area. Patch Local Voice Bill Dillon has accused Fountain Blue owner Tom Diamond of installing the tent without a permit and continuing to operate although he claims the business is violating the noise ordinance.
Diamond has spent $50,000 on sound mitigation for the tent and will considering building a 12-foot-high wall around the tent if the city approves an extension to his conditional use permit, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Can't believe this is still goin on. The noise is so minimal, its ridiculous. There is a serious gang problem 1 block over from the residents on Pine street but they are complaing that the noise from Fountain Blue is the reason their property values are going to go down. The apartments with the gangs, the violence, and the drugs are a closer distance to your house than the Fountain Blue is. If your worried about your property values then go to the city and complain about the things that really matter in your neighborhood rather than a banquet hall that has music till midnight one might a week.

agree, get rid of the gangs and drugs and you will feel so much better. Ask Des Plaines for more undercover cops in the area
