Moylan Calls for Changes to Des Plaines Gaming Tax Agreement
State Representative Marty Moylan said if more casinos are built in Illinois, Des Plaines should change its revenue sharing agreement with the owner and the state, Journal and Topics Newspapers reported.
Illinois State Representative Marty Moylan said if efforts to increase the number of casinos in the state, Des Plaines should reassess a revenue sharing agreement that requires the city to split gaming tax revenues with the state and a list of other communities, Journal and Topics Newspapers reported.
Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, was the highest-grossing casino in Illinois in 2012. After making revenue sharing payments, Des Plaines netted approximately $8.9 million in gaming tax revenue and admissions tax from Illinois’ newest casino.
