Monday Blotter: Stolen Purse, Broken Windows, More

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.
Burglary to Vehicle
A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle at Potbelly Sandwich Works, 2695 Mannheim Road, at 9:55 p.m. on June 26. Sometime between 8 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. on June 26 the passenger-side window of a car was smashed, and a black leather purse on the seat, which contained a wallet, $100 cash, credit cards, bank cards and a change purse, was removed. Property loss was estimated at $200.

Criminal Damage to Property
Two windows on an office building in the 1100 block of Executive Way were shattered, with what appeared to be a chunk of asphalt laying nearby, sometime between noon on June 19 and noon on June 22. Property loss was estimated at $500.

Soliciting without a Permit
Jordan Lee Thompson, 19, of Goochland, VA, was issued a citation for soliciting without a permit after police stated he was reported to be in the 1100 block of W. Grant Street selling books between 3:50 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. on June 23.
