Step up Your Cultural Enrichment at the Spring Dance Show by Artistry in Motion

When/Where: Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m. at the Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St. in Des Plaines.

Why Go: Put a spring in your step with this innovative and exciting young dance company as they present their annual dance concert. Choreography for the show was done by Laura Chiuve, Cecilia Ferguson-Bell, Anne Gollenberg and Mary Williams. The Des Plaines School of Dance’s tots-in-motion dancers will be part of a special performance at the show on April 14.

Pricing: Tickets are $8, $5 for dancers and students, children under two are free.

Spend Some Quality Time at Mother and Daughter Tea Time

When/Where: Saturday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: A fancy dress, gloves, and a special hat are all in fashion at Tea for Two. Come enjoy teas from around the world, finger sandwiches, and fun with your mother, grandmother or special guest you invite.

Twice A ‘Round consignment and resale shop of Des Plaines is sponsoring a fashion show, while the Artistry In Motion dancers will perform to make this afternoon one to remember! Join us for a great party.

Make the most of your afternoon out by attending the Artistry in Motion: Spring into Motion 2012 dance performance. Those attending the Tea for Two program will receive a buy one, get one free ticket for the Saturday, 4/14 performance at 2:00pm!

Pricing: $18.

Pancake Breakfast

When/Where: Parkview School, 6200 Lake Street, Morton Grove, Sunday April 15 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: Boy Scout Troop 228 and Cub Scout Troop 228 present fluffy, delicious hotcakes.

Pricing: $5 adults, $3 kids.

Maine East’s Orchesis Dance Concert

When/Where: Friday April 13 and Saturday April 14 at 7 p.m., Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge.

Why Go: Love to watch dancing? This is good stuff.

Pricing: $7.

Take Knockout Travel Photos

When/Where: Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m., Niles Library, 6960 W. Oakton, Niles.

Why Go: Paul Petersen, an award-winning photographer, will show you techniques for taking really impressive photos.

Pricing: Free.

When/Where: Our Lady of Ransom, 8300 N. Greenwood, Niles, Friday April 13, 7 p.m.

Why Go: When you win, give them an I5.
