Get Out: Breakfast with the Bunny, Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt, More

Breakfast With the Bunny

When/Where: Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at Golf Mill Cafe, Golf Mill Shopping Center Entrance 6, Greenwood Avenue at Milwaukee Avenue in Niles.

Why Go: Eat a delicious breakfast, visit with the bunny and have a chance to win prizes. Bring your camera, mom!

Pricing: $6.

 

Annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

When/Where: Friday, March 30, from 8 to 9 p.m. in the south parking lot of the Administrative & Leisure Center, 2222 Birch St. in Des Plaines.

Why Go: Children 7-12 years old are invited to bring flashlights and bags to hold goodies to the Park District’s annual flashlight Easter egg hunt.

Pricing: Free.

 

Earlier: High school students treat passers-by to a taste of the musical 1776.

 

Free Easter Egg Hunts for Little Ones

When/Where: Saturday, March 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St. in Des Plaines.

Why Go: The Easter Bunny will be there, first of all. Children, 2-3 years old will begin the hunt for goodies at 10 a.m. sharp, followed by 4-6 year-old children at 10:30 a.m. Bring a basket or bag to hold the delicious treats.

Pricing: Free.

 

Kids Event at History Center to Learn about Easter and Decorate Eggs

When/Where: Saturday, March 31, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson St.

Why Go: It’s an event for children to learn about different Easter traditions across the world.

There will be eggs available to decorate, snacks to eat, and an exhibit to teach children the history of Easter.

Pricing: $2.

 

Park District Trips to Bike and Skate Parks

When/Where: Saturday, March 31, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Mountain View Adventure Center, 510 E. Algonquin Road in Des Plaines.

Why Go: Explore some of the coolest bike and skate parks in the area. This trip to Pitch Bikepark and Skate in Mundelein is the first in a series of trips offered by the Des Plaines Park District, for children in grades 3-12.

Register at least 48 hours in advance. All trips depart from and return to the Mountain View Adventure Center.

Pricing: $15.

 

Rummage Sale at Our Lady of Ransom

When/Where: Friday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to noon, Our Lady of Ransom parish, 8300 N. Greenwood in Niles.

Why Go: Because it’s too early for garage sales. Plus, you can browse household items, tools, seasonal decor, housewares, clothing, jewelry and accessories.

Pricing: $2.

 

Spring Egg Scramble

When/Where: Saturday, March 31, 9:30 a.m., Golf View Recreation Center, 7700 N. Caldwell in Niles.

Why Go: Kids from 1 to 8 years old, bring your basket and collect eggs from the bunny! You’ll get a goody bag too.

Pricing: $8 residents, $10 non-residents.

 

Stagedoor Talent Showcase

When/Where: Sunday April 1 from 2 to 4 p.m., Niles Library, 6960 W. Oakton Street.

Why Go: It’s time to audition ­— for musical talent ages 12 and up. You’ll then attend a rehearsal May 19 and perform June 9.

Pricing: Free.

 

American Pop Forever!

When/Where: Friday, March 30, 7 p.m., St. John Brebeuf Parish Ministry Center, 8301 N. Harlem in Niles.

Why Go: Did you love the Supremes singing Baby Love? Do you know how to do the disco moves of songs like Boogie Nights? You’ll hear them all in this revue of songs from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

Pricing: Free.
