Friday Blotter: Woman Steals Vodka From Grocery Store
Tells police she forgot her wallet
The following items are taken from the Des Plaines Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Criminal damage to property
June 8: A window at a park district building, 515 Thacker St., was damaged, possibly by a BB gun. Management will review surveillance video.
June 8: Gang graffiti was scribbled on a 4th floor desk at the Des Plaines Public Library.
June 8: A man reported that the front storm door window of his residence on the 2000 block of Cedar Street had been shattered.
Criminal damage/ burglary to vehicle
June 8: A woman reported that her rear passenger window had been broken/pried open and her CD player stolen from her vehicle while it was parked on the 1300 block of Cora Street. Two of her tires had been punctured as well.

June 8: An air line was cut on a tractor while it was parked in a shipping dock at a warehouse on the 300 block of West Touhy Avenue.
June 9: Katrina Ladendorf, 53, of the 1500 block of South White Street, was charged with petty theft after she was stopped in the parking lot of Dominick's, 1555 S. Lee St., with a bottle of Ketel One vodka, valued at $48.99, in her purse. Ladendorf told police she "forgot her wallet at home and didn't want to go home to get it."
June 9: A loss prevention officer at Dominick's, 1555 S. Lee St., told police that they saw a woman on video surveillance steal a bottle of Bacardi rum from the store and leave the premises in a silver SUV.
