Friday Blotter: Fake ID with a Warrant, Stolen Grill, More

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.
No Driver’s License, Obstructing a Peace Officer
Eduardo Lorenzo-Moran, 38, of Prospect Heights, was charged with no driver’s license and obstructing a peace officer after police conducted a traffic stop on his truck for not having a front license plate in the 100 block of N. River Road at 10 a.m. on July 12.
When police checked the name on the driver’s license Lorenzo-Moran gave them, it was found to have an active warrant from Texas and was extraditable.
Lorenzo-Moran, according to the report, told police the identification was fake. The name on the license not his real name, Lorenzo-Moran said. Lorenzo-Moran said he bought the information from a man in Texas a few years ago so he could get an Illinois driver’s license and state identification card.
Lorenzo-Moran was also issued a citation for no front plate. He was given a court date of Aug. 15 at Skokie courthouse.
A gas grill and propane tank were reported stolen from the backyard of a residence in the 1100 block of Cora Street sometime between 2 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. on July 13, police reported. Property loss was estimated at $210.
Burglary to Vehicle
A car parked in the 900 block of Marshall Drive was ransacked sometime between 8:30 p.m. on July 15 and 8 a.m. on July 16, police stated. An unknown amount of loose change was missing from the vehicle.
