Des Plaines Road Construction Updates Week of Sept. 17

Find out the latest information about local roadwork, reported on the city’s website.

 

The following road construction updates were published on the City of Des Plaines’ website on Sept. 7. All work is weather dependent. Unknown utilities and conflicts may also cause delays. Click here to for all the construction updates for Des Plaines.

Sixth Avenue from Forest to Van Buren: The contractor will continue any miscellaneous cleanup and other contracted tasks, also known as punch list work.

Birchwood Avenue from Wolf to Douglas: The contractor will continue miscellaneous cleanup of the job. Various fire hydrants will be replaced this week.

Earlier: Mount Prospect man killed in Elmhurst Road crash.

Elmira Avenue from South End to Birchwood: The contractor will continue miscellaneous cleanup of the job site. Various fire hydrants will be replaced this week.

Jarvis Avenue from East End to Douglas: The contractor will continue repair and construction of the concrete curb, sidewalk and driveway aprons.

Douglas Avenue from Jarvis to South End: The contractor will continue miscellaneous cleanup of the job site. Various fire hydrants will be replaced this week.

Dempster/Thacker Railroad Crossing: The Union Pacific Railroad crossing at Dempster and Thacker streets, between Mount 
Prospect and Wolf roads, will be closed for repairs for approximately six days beginning Sept. 17. Detour signs will be posted.
