City Manager Forgoes Iowa Position
Des Plaines’ acting city manager, Jason Slowinski, has applied for openings across the country.
Jason Slowinski, acting city manager for Des Plaines, has withdrawn from applying for an assistant city manager job in Ames, Iowa, Ames Patch reported. Slowinski was expected to interview in Ames this week and meet the public at City Hall on Wednesday.
Slowinski has applied for other city manager positions across the country, Journal and Topics Newspapers reported in August 2011. City council ousted the previous city manager, and eliminated funding for the city manager position from the budget in 2010.
A message left for Slowinski was not immediately returned.
