Walmart is hiring approximately 130 associates to work at the expanded Wheeling Walmart slated to open in August. The retailer has set up a temporary hiring center inside the store’s current location at 1455 E. Lake Cook Road.  

The hiring kiosks are currently available and will continue accepting applications. Interested applicants can also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.

According to store manager Roger Fox, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. “We are thrilled to expand this Walmart in Wheeling and bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area,” he said. Fox began his Walmart career in 1991 as an assistant manager at the Walmart in Grand Rapids, Minn.

Fox said associates are needed to work in all areas of the new store. 

Walmart’s benefit program is available to eligible full- and part-time associates and provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including medical insurance with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise for store associates, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

The majority of associates will begin work immediately to help prepare the store for its grand opening this August.
