NAMI CCNS Walks on October 7

NAMI-CCNS OBSERVES MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS WEEK (MIAW) October 7-13 with 5k walk to celebrate that the U.S. Congress has recognized since 1990 NAMI’s efforts to raise mental illness awareness . Like any physical illness, mental illness, while grossly misunderstood, is not a disorder to be ashamed of-the shame is to ignore it.

Over 400 walkers, volunteers and sponsors came together on Sunday October 7 in the Blue Star Memorial Woods in Glenview to celebrate NAMI-CCNS’s mission to provide education, support and a community of friends who understand and help eliminate the stigma that has for so long stopped people from getting the help, treatment, and support they need.
