Maine Township Food Drive Held in Des Plaines
The demand on the Maine Township Emergency Food Pantry is greater than ever and never ends. The need continues year-round. As a result, the efforts to keep the shelves stocked are ongoing.
In addition to the generous support of groups and organizations as well as private citizens, elected officials from Maine Township join staff and volunteers to collect contributions of food and money (used to buy food).
Here on Dec. 1 at the Des Plaines Shop 'N Save, l to r, are Trustee Susan Moylan Krey, Staff Member Denise Jajko, Deputy Director of the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Dagmar Rutzen, Highway Dept. representative Richard Brandes and OEM volunteers Bill Prize, Febin M. Varughese, and Mark Levy.
Thanks to all those who helped in the effort. Officials will be out at the same location again on Dec. 15 so stop by.
