M. Spencer Reed, Information Technology Manager of the Des Plaines Park District, received the Dedicated to Excellence Award for the first quarter, at the February 21 Park Board Meeting by Don Miletic, Superintendent of Business and Golf Operations. Reed was recognized for expert computer knowledge and his dedicated customer service skills.

Reed began his career at the Des Plaines Park District in the Fall of 2010. His responsibilities include administering and maintaining the District’s computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure. He also supports the staff in all their IT needs. His most recent projects at the Des Plaines Park District include setting up a virtual server system, working with the maintenance department on a back-up generator, and launching the new website.

Reed is a Microsoft Certified systems engineer with a security specialization. Before his employment at the Des Plaines Park District, he worked for Computer View, Inc. as a Systems Engineer. “Reed understands business practices and he implements procedures and processes that make District personnel accountable. The facts that he is always willing to help others and jump in and spend the extra time necessary to get the job done, make him deserving of this award,” Miletic said.
