The District 62 Board of Education announces the fourth community open house in a series of six scheduled events.  A community open house is scheduled at Forest Elementary School, 1375 S. Fifth Avenue, from 5:30-6:30 PM, Thursday, March 15. 
 
Renovations and improvements that were made during master plan construction will be showcased.  In addition to flooring, painting, lighting, HVAC and other infrastructure improvements the following was accomplished:
 
            Classrooms moved to the first floor
            The former school board room and technology lab converted to kindergarten classrooms, entrances, and toilets
            Two Technology Integrated Learning Environments (TILEs) placed next to the LMC
            The multi-purpose room floor replaced
            Two classrooms replaced the former administrative suite
            The main entrance relocated and secured
            Parking and vehicular traffic reconfigured for easier pick-up and drop-off
 
Students will guide visitors through the building, staff will be available for questions, and refreshments will be served in the multi-purpose room.
