The Des Plaines Health and Human Services Division has announced that the Frisbie Senior Center and the University of Illinois Extension will be offering a program for those with diabetes and those who care for people with diabetes called, I on Diabetes.

The four week class will be held from 9 a.m. – noon, Jan. 11, 18, 25 and Feb. 1 at the Frisbie Community Center, 52 E. Northwest Highway, Des Plaines.

Each class will be three hours in length and will include discussions on managing diabetes, meal planning, and food demonstrations.  Taste testing of recipes will also be offered. The program is meant to compliment the recommendations of health care providers to assist those who have diabetes, or those carrying for those who have diabetes, in managing their condition.
