Des Plaines Mayor Martin J. Moylan issued the oath of Chief of Police to William Kushner at the Tuesday, September 4, 2012, City Council Meeting at City Hall.  Kushner has 35 years of law enforcement experience, including 29 years with the City of Chicago.  In 2006 he left Chicago to become the Police Chief for the City of Berwyn, IL.  After
four years in Berwyn, Kushner became the Police Chief in Lakemoor, IL, where he has served since 2010.  Kushner holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Xavier College and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal and Social Justice from Lewis University.  Kushner is a graduate of the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University, and is a certified Police Chief from the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police.
