A coffee and cake reception was held at Des Plaines City Hall, Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in honor of Acting City Manager Jason Slowinski who will be leaving his position on Friday, April 20, 2012, to take a job as Village Administrator of Lake Zurich, IL.  Officials, friends and co-workers gathered at the coffee to wish him the best. Slowinski began his career with the City of Des Plaines in September, 2008, when he was hired as the Assistant City Manager.  Mr. Mike Bartholomew, the City’s Director of Community and Economic Development, has been appointed City Manager.
